GoodMemory

Local-first, auditable cross-session memory for AI apps and coding agents.

Current stable release: v0.7.5.

GoodMemory stores selected facts and decisions, recalls project-scoped context, exposes provenance and retrieval traces, and lets users correct or delete wrong memories. It is not an LLM, agent framework, vector database, or automatic transcript archive.

Install

Codex or Claude Code

npm install -g goodmemory@0.7.5
goodmemory setup
goodmemory status

Requires Node.js 20 or newer and Bun 1.3.14 or newer.

Kimi Code

/plugins install https://github.com/hjqcan/GoodMemory

Confirm the third-party trust prompt, run /reload or /new, then check /plugins info goodmemory and /mcp. The plugin exposes goodmemory_remember, but Kimi's normal MCP approval remains the write boundary.

MCP, HTTP, TypeScript, and Python

Use the GitHub quickstart to choose the integration that matches your host.

Help verify real cross-session use

  1. Install GoodMemory in a clean environment.
  2. Save one non-sensitive project decision.
  3. Start a new session and recall or trace that decision.
  4. Confirm that a different project path cannot see it.
  5. Report the host, OS, exact Node/Bun versions, and either the successful fresh-session result or the reproducible failure in the test cohort discussion.

Release gates cover packaging and runtime behavior. They do not prove improved coding outcomes or independent adoption.

Hosted bridge status

The hosted HTTP bridge at goodmemory.vibenest.net is healthy and requires bearer authentication. It currently reports GoodMemory 0.7.2; package and plugin users should use the current 0.7.5 release above.
